Spotorama — Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026

Spotorama does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server that Spotorama sends anything to. Everything the app records stays on your device.

What is collected

Nothing. Spotorama has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics or crash-reporting service, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. The developer receives no information about you, your device, or how you use the app.

What is stored, and where

Spotorama stores the things you enter so the game works: player names and the optional details you may add for picking teams, your spot lists and scoring, and a record of each trip you play. All of it is written to your device's own storage.

  • It is never transmitted anywhere.
  • It is included in your device backups if you have those turned on, under your own Apple Account, subject to Apple's terms rather than ours.
  • Deleting the app deletes it.

Microphone and speech recognition

Voice input is optional. Spotorama only listens while you have explicitly turned listening on inside a trip, and stops when you stop it or the trip ends. Every action that can be spoken can also be tapped, and the app is fully playable without ever granting microphone access.

When you turn listening on, iOS shows a standard Speech Recognition permission dialog. That dialog contains fixed wording, written by Apple, stating that speech data is sent to Apple for processing. That sentence is supplied by the system and cannot be altered by an app. It does not describe what Spotorama does.

Spotorama transcribes speech using Apple's on-device speech framework (SpeechAnalyzer / SpeechTranscriber) against a language model installed on your device. Audio is processed on the device and is not sent to the developer or to any third party. Spotorama does not record, store or upload audio.

Spotorama does not perform speaker identification and does not create voiceprints. When a spoken call is matched to a player, that is done from the name in what was said, not from the sound of anyone's voice.

Network use

Spotorama makes no network requests of its own and works without a connection. The one exception is that the first time you use voice input, iOS may download a speech recognition model to your device. That download is managed by iOS, not by Spotorama, and happens once. Tapping works with no connection at all.

Children

Spotorama is a family game and is intended to be played by families together. Because it collects nothing and transmits nothing, it collects no information from children, or from anybody else. The optional "kid" and "grown-up" labels exist only so the app can suggest teams on your own device; they are never transmitted and may be left blank.
